Always unique, Les Violons du Roy unveil their 2025-2026 season

Baroque music, classics from the repertoire, contemporary creations, and unprecedented artistic collaborations: Les Violons du Roy announce a 2025-2026 season that promises to be rich in reunions, discoveries, and emotions. The Quebec ensemble presents a program that reflects both its deep attachment to the 18th-century repertoire and its constant desire to broaden its artistic horizons.

The new season, which will take place at the Palais Montcalm – Maison de la musique, the Maison symphonique, and the Bourgie Hall of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, will feature renowned musicians such as Jonathan Cohen, Bernard Labadie, Robert D. Levin, and Nicolas Ellis, as well as brilliant soloists including violinist Kerson Leong, sopranos Elisabeth St-Gelais and Sarah Dufresne, flutist Ariane Brisson, and cellist Cameron Crozman. It will also highlight new talents such as conductor Kyrian Friedenberg and contralto Rose Naggar-Tremblay.

True to their tradition of excellence and innovation, Les Violons du Roy will offer music lovers in Quebec City three distinct series: Grandes Soirées and Plaisirs d'après-midi (a shorter version of the evening program) at Raoul-Jobin Hall, as well as Apéros at D'Youville Hall for more intimate musical encounters. Three concerts will be presented at the Maison symphonique and seven concerts at Bourgie Hall.

"This season embodies our artistic vision, which is to bring yesterday's works to life by putting them in dialogue with today's works, to showcase the talent of our musicians, and to create bridges between different musical traditions," emphasizes Laurent Patenaude, artistic director and co-executive director of Les Violons du Roy. "We are particularly pleased to present two world premieres and to welcome several artists who will be making their debuts with our ensemble."
